Keepin' It Weird

Austin has a slogan -- "Keep Austin Weird." The "weirdness" of Austin had me a bit wary before our move, but I find Austin more quirky than weird, and I like the quirkiness. One of the things (or people, I should say) that makes Austin quirky is Leslie. It's been a while since I've seen him, but my husband sees him frequently. In a thong and on a bike -- Leslie, not my husband. :-) I was surprised to see a CL ad from Leslie.

Leslie YES THE LESLIE is looking for (MUST BE OPEN MINDED)
a place to live in exchange for his handyman services which include tile, landscaping, painting, electrical, dog sitting, house sitting, etc.
So if you have a extra room, vacant house, garage apartment, or a shed,
and this ad interests you please feel free to email me and we can go for there.

We don't have an extra bedroom or a guest house, so we won't be responding to Leslie's ad.

Speaking of weird, today's Michael Jackson's 50th birthday. No commentary needed. Happy Birthday, Michael, and Happy Friday to all!

You are a lucky lady; there is no more beautiful place in the world than the Texas hill country. I grew up here, so I am used to the concept of "keep Austin weird". Your thoughts are like mine, I think it is more open minded, and free spirited, not necessarily weird. I love Austin, it's always been the perfect weekend getaway for me; that and San Antonio.
I've heard of Leslie, but never seen him. When I finish ready my daily blogs, I'll go check the link to Leslie out.

My parents live in San Antonio, as do my brothers and their families. I've burned a lot of rubber between there and Amarillo, till we moved to the Austin area the end of 2006. We moved down for jobs and just love it here. The commute isn't fun, but at the end of the day, we sit on the front porch of our limestone house and enjoy our little slice of Heaven in the Hill Country. :-)

I honestly don't care if Austin's weird...I love it! That area is one of my favorite's and one day, I'm hoping to come home, have a cuppa joe, and sit out on my porch to enjoy a view just like yours, Sandra!

Well...I would let him stay in the barn for gardening and handyman work in a skinny minute. I'd be a heck of a commute, though.

I also love his spike heels. How in the world does he ride a bike in those? What did we do for entertainment before Craigslist came along? Give your family a hug for me and enjoy your long weekend.
