Home of the Week

This week's home of the week is part of the Hooked on House Tours Blog Party. Come join in all the fun!

Wimberley is a cute town in the Texas Hill Country. I'd love to make it over there sometime for Wimberley Market Days. I think it's a little too far to live in Wimberley and commute to Austin, but some people do that. This week's home is one of the best I've featured so far and really embodies so much of what I love about Texas Hill Country style. (as always, click on pics for larger views)

Here are the remarks from the mls site: Fantastic ranch with luxurious home in a valley that includes most of surrounding hills for privacy. Main house appx 5900 SF, Guest Hs appx 1800 SF-both beside private lake. Beautiful pool area, landscaping, waterfalls, 6-stall barn w/apt, lighted arena, tennis court, putting green. Game fenced, manicured & park-like . Sold with furnishings. Available with less acreage.

Listing Price: $6,000,000
Annual Taxes: $16,694
Tax Year: 2007

Note the antler chandelier in this room as well as the one above the pool table two pics down. Huge! I love the cathedral ceiling and stained beams in this room, too.

Now THIS is a Hill Country loggia!
How would you like to have your own putting green?

I might want to change a little of the decor, but I could move right into this home. For more house tours, click here.

Beautiful house! I don't know about the 6 million dollar price tag but the taxes on that aren't bad at all! Thanks for sharing your tour with us.

This is gorgeous. Love those high beamed ceilings. But my favorite part may be that long covered porch that appears to run the length of the house. Ahhh. I would love that.

Thanks so much for joining the blog party and sharing this house with us! -Julia :-)

P.S. When you get a chance, could you add a link at the end of your post back to my main party page? It'll make it easier for people to get back to the list of blogs when they're ready. Here's the link:

Beautiful! I love the house and the property is absolutely amazing. I'd have to get rid of those antlers but besides that I could just move in and enjoy. Thanks for the tour!

Wow! They say everything's bigger in Texas and I guess that applies to homes, too. :-)

As a vegetarian, I'd have to make some obvious changes to the decor, LOL, but other than that I could hang my cowgirl hat here for sure!

Stop my tour if you get a chance...the homes I featured are about 1/1000th of the size!

Limestone, timber beams, live oaks...this is why I love the Hill Country. I am a displaced Texan in Georgia. :(

Thanks for the fun post!

That's quite a spread! Thanks for the tour... let's know when your house warming party is!

Nice, Sandra! All that stands between me and a finished family room is a couple of deer heads hanging off the wall. Hee!

Maybe we can get Linda's hubby's phone # and talk him into Horseshoe Bay. Wouldn't that be a hoot?

Texan decor and Californian decor share some similarities. I guess it's the Colonial Mexican influence? That's another state I'd really love to travel to at some point!

Very nice house. Yep. That would suit me just fine.

Thanks for the great tour!
