Home of the Week

Like the rest of the country, there's no shortage of homes for sale in the Austin area. Unfortunately, however, it is difficult to find listings that have lots of pictures, especially good ones. I was delighted when I came across this home and saw that there were quite a few pictures, although it would've been nice to see the master bedroom and bath. (As always, click on pics for larger views).

What did you think of that wine room? I wouldn't mind opening up a bottle of red zin in that room.

This home is located near Lake Travis and listed at $7,250,000. With 17,046 square feet, there are 10 bedrooms, six full baths, and four half baths. Oh, and it sits on nearly 13 acres. There's even a helipad!

What do you think? Could you see yourself living here?

I guess everything really IS bigger in Texas. ;-) Although it's fun to look at, and there are elements I like about the house, I can honestly say I have no desire to live in a house that big, even if I had the money to spend. I *would* consider buying a lot on Lake Travis, though, if covenants allowed under 3,000 square feet homes. :-)

Thanks for stopping by. Texas Hill Country, hmmmm, I've always wanted to visit there. I love all your homes with stone, antiques, etc. . . Maybe someday. For now, I'll just visit your blog.

It was the wine room that did it for me....I loved the wine room! It reminded me of Italy when we visited this past spring.

Thanks for coming by to visit me. What a wonderful home!! Yeah, I think I could live there....lol

When I was growing up we used to camp most every weekend at Lake Travis....we drove from Houston and kept a boat and travel trailer there. Is hippie hollow still around?? lol

Um. No. I'm with Lisa...I just wouldn't need that size even IF I couls afford an 8 Mil home.

However, IF I did live there...you could find me in the wine cellar...all moved in ;~)

Well, this house is certainly spectacular. I visited Texas once, and I thought the homes were gorgeous. This one is truly amazing. Karen

What a house. I love the pool & lake area - I think that's where I'd have to take my wine.

Thanks for stopping by earlier & for the review on the furniture.

I understand why it's for sale; I couldn't even pay the electric bill for something that size. The best part of the house (for my taste) was the wine cellar!
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I see we read a lot of the same blogs, but I'd never visited you 'till just now. I'll be back!
