Hamptons Showhouse

If you were like me this past weekend, you watched "Something's Gotta Give" for the umpteenth time. I think it's a cute movie, and Jack Nicholson and Diane Keaton give flawless performances. Plus, if you're into great interior design, you've gotta love the house.

I'm not quite sure how, but I stumbled upon a Hamptons showhouse from summer 2008. The exterior is quite reminiscent of the home in the movie. (The first photo is the SGG house. The following two are the Hamptons showhouse).

The showhouse has a handful of living and home office areas. If you think that's over the top, wait till you see the bedrooms.

Don't these stairs remind you of the living space in the SGG house?

SGG living room...

The kitchen has some similarities to the SGG kitchen but completely stands alone as its own design.

Bedroom one...

Bedroom 2...
Bedroom 3...

Bedroom 4... Notice the nubby linen ceiling.

This space is listed as the junior suite. It looks like it was inspired by Tiffany's -- especially the blue.

This space is listed as the master suite. It's probably my least favorite bedroom in the whole home.
This is the master suite.

This space is the children's "study." For some reason, I can't really see kids studying here -- in the Hamptons.
This is the cabana.
The showhouse calls this space the art lounge.

As with most showhouses, this one utilized several designers to create the rooms. Do you have a favorite?

Thanks for your visit this morning. Yes, I love the stone in the hill country and especially when it is used in an interior.

Regarding your post,I can't choose a favorite room - some I like better than others. What a fun show house with a ton to look at! I don't know......it just doesn't get much better than Something's Gotta Give!

Fun pics, Sandra! I just watched something's Gotta Give a few weeks ago & it was great to see that house again, esp. now that I knew what to really look at this time. I loved it the first time, but seeing it again was even better.

Hmm. Is it me? What I ate...what I didn't eat??...but I am not lovin' a lot of those showhouse spaces. The outside is most certainly similar...kitchen, yep. But some of those rooms were... really not doing it.What was that skinny telly-tubby white sculpture in the corner of one room? I'm thinkin' nightmares for sure.

I did like the master bedrooom.

I need to watch SGG again. When I finally did watch, I was so intent on the house...I swear I lost most of the plot!

Husband is off to your part of the world manana!

I love SGG - there is just something so hopeful for a "woman of age " ... now if I could just LOOK like Diane Keaton. I watch it over and over - focused on a different interest every time

I have only seen Something's Gotta Give once. When it first came out. I remember loving that her house in the movie, and now I know why. It is just my style. I just didn't really figure it out until recently. Glad I did. I still love the look! :) The comparison house is just a little too contemporary for me. There's a lot of elements in there that I would change, but the exterior is nice.

showhouses are so disjointed and this one is no different - but i adore the stairs and the exterior!!! wow - that's a beautiful house. I love SGG, I might have to watch it again for the 100th time.

Have to agree with Linda & Joni Sandra, looks like a different decorator did each room, but still you are right in that's there a ton of ideas here. One thing I am enamoured with is tray on one of the beds with the cocktail shaker & martini glasses - how cool is that!!
