Dead Man's Hole

Where else but Texas could you own property called "Dead Man's Hole" and be proud you do? I don't think I would want to be a realtor, but I love perusing real estate sites and seeing houses for sale. When I came across a listing called "Dead Man's Hole," I was intrigued.

I did a Google search for Dead Man's Hole and found some information on an interesting piece of land outside of Marble Falls, northwest of Austin. Given that the real estate listing for Dead Man's Hole mentions frontage of the Pedernales River, it's hard to tell if it's the same Dead Man's Hole as the one near Marble Falls.

The real estate listing shows a home with wonderful lines in architecture and decorating, and the setting is spectacular. First the details. The main house has 3,928 square feet, five bedrooms, five full baths, and two living areas. The guest house has one bedroom and one bath.

This Hill Country home sits on 448 acres, which includes 1925' frontage on the Pedernales River and ownership in Dead Man's Hole. There are seven miles of mountain bike trails, pool and spa, and a heated and cooled workshop with full bath. The price? Just a cool $12 mil.

Isn't the setting gorgeous?

I usually post Austin/Hill Country open houses on Wednesdays, but next week, I'll be participating in Julia's Hooked on House Tours blog party on Friday. What a wonderful way to kick off the weekend! I found a really wonderful Austin home to include in the tour, so I hope you'll come back to check it out. There will be a listing of all the house tours at Hooked on Houses. While you're there, be sure to check out Julia's weekly wrap-up of Top Design.
