Home of the Week -- Windsor Road
One of my favorite streets in Austin is Windsor Road. This drive runs through an old, monied part of town and is chock full of gorgeous homes. This particular home is on a stretch of Windsor Road that's a little newer, but the homes are still quite nice.
This estate has more than 6,000 square feet and has five or six bedrooms, five full baths, two half baths and five living areas. It also features a gourmet kitchen, three dining areas, and a guest apartment. (As always, click on pics for larger views).
I like a lot of things about this living room, but I wish they'd use a more substantial coffee table or just lose it altogether.
Note the two small prints on the wall. The living room is so large, and that coffered ceiling is so weighty, that wall is just screaming for a large, amazing piece of art.
Note the trendy wallpaper and the lamp made out of a wine bottle.
Like this home? It can be yours for $2.95 million.

Love the shuttered headboard!
I hope they get it!
Have a Happy Halloween!
Wow! I think I could fit my entire house in the nursery. You must be in complete awe driving on Windsor Road. I'm just thankful (you too?) that I don't have to CLEAN a place like that! Katie
Beautiful home, but needs more color and LOTS more stuff on the walls. I am NOT a minimalist!
I'm afraid this house just wouldn't be big enough for me. ;-)
Fun house tour. I think you're right that some of the scale is off. The place is so huge that they needed some bigger pieces in there.
Don't care for the dead animals on the walls. I was talking to an interior designer yesterday who was telling me that she had to hang not one but two bison heads on a client's walls and gave her the heebie jeebies. I wouldn't want to touch them, either.
Thanks for the tour! You always show us good ones.
Love that house..WOW!
I too love the song "The Dance" its so great!

Julia, I'm not a big fan of dead stuff on the walls, either. I have been thinking I'd like some sort of deer head in my house, but I'm thinking more along the lines of something in resin. LOL
OMG I love that house. I could SO live there! Can you go over and pretend you're rich and do a walk-thru? Hee!
Oh Sandra, thanks for stopping by. I'm glad you enjoyed the post. That chair means the world to me, and I'm so happy to have a piece of my grandma here with me everyday. Oh, and you know I'm salivating over those stools in the living room of the feature house this week. MY GOODNESS! You think they'll sell them sans the 2.45 million dollar price tag? LOL!
I think the furnishings are actually staged - what do you think? there doesn't really seem to be a living details. that may be why there wasn't a fab piece of art in the living room - gorgeous house though and very well staged, if it is.
oh wait - I take that back - I just noticed a covered bbq grill outside, never mind. I seems so empty though - doesn't it? oh well = I'd take it just as it is anyway.
