Snuggle Up

Thomas Jefferson built in an alcove bed in his Monticello home. He incorporated a few innovative ideas into his alcove bed, but I think an alcove bed is pretty special all by itself.

It's cozy and private and certainly takes advantage of small spaces. See for yourself...

Which alcove bed is your favorite?

I've always wanted to have an alcove bed. I love all the photos, Sandra.

I am so claustrophobic, it would be the second from the bottom, with the double wedding ring rug and the big windows (they wouldn't make me feel closed in).
Do you know what the three circles above Jefferson's alcove are for?

Oh my! I love Alcove beds. Actually my favorite I sold. It was an 18th century Louis XV style, painted grey and white.
Of course I vote for the French one!
Great photos, Thanks!

I have always loved alcove beds. Maybe someday I can figure out a way to do that for sweet Molly and Madelyn.
