I get a kick out of posting funny Craigslist ads, but the truth is, there are so many good deals on Austin's Craigslist, I really need to make more money. I decided to share a few of them with you. (Note: These are just what I've found in recent ads, not that I'm going to buy any of them).
Need an armoire? I know this one is dated, but for no more than what this thing costs, you could paint it and have a really nice piece for not a lot of dough -- $90.
Like French country? How about this pretty china hutch? It's only $80.
Or if you prefer an entire set, this vintage set comes with table (+3 leaves), four chairs (I love the needlepointed seats) and china cab (sorry the pic is sideways) for just $500 OBO. I'd offer $400 and see what happens.
Into mid-century decor and turquoise? How about this beauty? Not a steal at $250, but it looks like it's in great condition, and I'd bet the owner would barter.
This piece isn't cheap, but the owner supposedly paid $500 for it and is asking $190. I can see a lot of potential in this little antique dresser.
I remember seeing a bed similar to this in a decorating magazine several years ago. That bed and the room it was in was one of my faves for a long time. This bed's not quite as special as the one in the magazine, but for $50, it ain't bad.
Know how expensive home theater seating can be? This leather set was $3500 new and is just $1200 on CL.
With a little TLC, this rattan sofa would be nice on a patio or in a sunroom. Not bad for just $50.
I've found quite a few bargains for myself on Craigslist, but after seeing this little sampling of deals, you know why it's very dangerous for me to even look. Good thing we have a pickup! Now if only I had more funds. :-)
Note to the Cedar Rapids, NE reader, would you mind e-mailing me or leaving a comment, so I can e-mail you? Thanks!

Those are great deals! I need to look into Craigs list more often!

Sorry for the delete. I'm losing it! I told you that that FC dining room set is exactly like my MILs; then after thinking about it; NOT! (It IS very similar though.) I did recognize those chairs, but it's because *I* have one that I bought for 10 bucks at some junk store years ago. I was thrilled to finally get a little FC chair. It's in my bedroom.
Sandra, we do NOT have CL deals like that here. (Might be a good thing for me...lol...)
Sandra,
Thanks for coming by. Yes, that is my foyer. That wallpaper was a bugger to try and get hung. I had it for about a year before we found someone that would tackle hanging it. So glad you like it too.
What great Craigs list items. If we weren't full to the brim I would certainly look into Craig's List.
Hugs,
Sue
I can see that first hutch painted and decorated, that's a bargain. You can see why I don't spend a lot of time there, either, too much eye candy. I need to be "selling" and not "buying".
I need to post some pics of all the deals I purchased on Craigslist. The D/FW Craigslist is awesome! It never ceases to amaze me all the things people get rid of. The one here in Oklahoma is not that great, but I stumble upon things every now and then...
Good deals! i need to go on craig's list - I always to go ebay.
thanks for your sweet comment too!

Holy moly! Look at all that stuff! We don't have that kind of selection here in upstate NY either! Heck, you could open up a shop reselling all that stuff, and make a fortune, Sandra! Get on that, will ya? ;)
