Before and After Party

My friend, Rhoda over at Southern Hospitality, is having a blog party featuring great before and after projects of 2008. We're still working on our media room, so that one will have to be a 2009 after. The best thing we did in 2008 was replace the flooring in our living room...
(Excuse the clutter in this pic. It was taken shortly after moving in).

What's even better about this before and after project is that the flooring looks like hand-scraped wood planks, but it's actually vinyl. It was also a snap to install. If you would like real wood floors but don't want the expense of them, or if you have pets like I do, vinyl has come a long way, baby.

Sandra, those floors have to be the greatest transformation EVER. I can't believe vinyl can look that awesome! Gosh, remember your awesome stained cement floors? I just loved those too. You have a way with flooring, chica!

Oh Sandra, what a difference that made! And I cannot take credit for that cloche. I saw Kimba (Soft Place to Land) do it, she saw some one else do it and so on and so forth. I had a lot of fun with it. I was all decorated for Christmas. One has a Nutcracker in it. I am about to decorate for Valentines. I think Roses... Beauty and the beast...

Those floors are gorgeous!!!! We did something similar in our last house. But the vinyl was a lighter color. If we did it again I would go with the same floors that you have. They are much richer looking.
