As far as I'm concerned, the best place to live in the Texas Hill Country is close enough to the city (San Antonio or Austin) to enjoy urban amenities and far enough away to savor a little piece of Heaven. Our home sits on .60 acre, so that works for us. Some people, however, prefer a larger spread.
This week's home anchors a sprawling Texas Hill Country ranch just outside Austin. The bones of the main house are amazing. Just imagine what Brooke or Joni could do with the decorating.
The main house has 5,828 square feet with three bedrooms, two full baths, two half baths, a living room, formal study, office, and studio. The guest quarters are above the barn and include two bedrooms, one bathroom, and one living area. Oh, there's a pool cabana, too. That space has a living area, bar & kitchenette and full bath. If you have to ask how much, you probably can't afford it. Honestly, the real estate listing says, "Price Upon Request." Needless to say, I won't be requesting.

Thank you for the shout out, Sandra.
I would love to get my hands on this property.
It's magnificent. Steve....what do you think of moving to Texas?
Love that two story living room!!!
and the grounds are magnificent. Oh to have that kind of space. We live in the city. 50x150 is all we get. I practically have breakfast with my neighbors.
I'd love a little elbow room.

I'll take that little white cottage by the lake. It looks to be about 20 x 20? :-) Good 'nuff with that view!
Oh boy...there is so much to love about this house!! Starting with the surroundings...great barn and outbuildings. Then the great unique floors...nice traditional touch...love that little alcove stairway, and stained glass windows...all very wonderful!
Thanks for the tour Sandra!

Beautiful images!
I also like your garage redo and the design profiles.
What a beautiful home! I love the stained glass windows - always a dream of mine.
Simply breathtaking!
Fabulous find Sandra - oh, wouldn't you just love to be able to hand it over to our dream team Brooke & Joni along with an open cheque book! Yes, you are right, this house has got so much going for it in the inherent design, but I can hear it calling out for some TLC from across the Pacific.
Millie ^_^
Beautiful home...Texas is the best place to live! Lisa
donde esta? quiero!!! ahora.
LOVELY! I was squinting, waiting for the price ... I can't imagine what something like that would cost.
Absolutly gorgeous, and the views are breathtaking. great find.
That's just gorgeous but I love the outside more than the house! What I wouldn't give for all that land!

Where do I even begin? I don't know how you do it, but you find THEE dreamiest houses. Keep 'em coming!
I guess the owners tried to make it feel clean and contempo with the white upholstered pieces in the living room, but GOSH it could sing with some color ! ANY color! Beautiful property.
This is my dream house! I just came across it and never new such a beautiful place existed. They should make it into a bed/breakfast so I can at least go stay there. It's perfect (to me).
Wow, time has really been a good friend to our old ranch house. I grew up there as a child and the changes are exceptional! This house has always had a great vibe, lots of laughter, parties, weddings, and above all else, children. Well done!
I went to summer camp here in 1996. We rode horses all over the ranch. There were long cabins for the campers. My horse's name was Patches. We had the same horse the whole time, it was our responsibility to care for it. My mother was late picking me up and I was able to stay in the main house (the one you posted) for 2 hours while I waited. I had tea in the kitchen and read a book on the couch in the living room. I was 15 at the time. I just read the ranch was sold and is now a subdivision. Very sad. The land was beautiful!
