Let's Talk Mantels

I'm still refining my mantel, and if I can get some time, I'll take pics of my Christmas decorating this weekend. I'm trying a few new things this year, so it'll be fun to see what y'all think. Until then, see what you think about these Christmas mantels.

Do you have a favorite? I love most of them, but if I go with white and silver this year, I've gotta love #2 and the last two mantels.

I love the first one. I'm still waiting for my husband to build me a mantel, so I can decorate it..

Last two. I'm drawn to simple and white.

Wonderful mantel images, Sandra.

I've always wanted to decorate with a thick garland going all the way to the floor. Having only a mantel, instead of surround, I'm unable to get the look I want. I've always loved that look.

Sorry to hear about the accident. It is so scary, with kids and grandkids driving. I've had the phone call. Fortunately, no serious injuries, but the car! If I had seen that first, I can only imagine!! Good thing I didn't!

The next to the last is my favorite. All that old silver, as well as the mercury is just eye catching to me this year. The evolution continues at my house. Did you see my chain ball swags a couple days ago? I'm still cracking up at that! ~Mindy

They are each beautiful in their own way. I prefer "rustic" and homemade items, and especially old items that have been in the family for ages!

I love all of them. I have to say, I love number one the best! They all put my mantel to shame!

Ooo...I love the one with all of the stockings, and the one right under it with the three white stockings. Both are simple yet totally striking to me. I'm in the market for a salvaged mantle...the man of the shorehouse doesn't "get" it (why would anyone want a mantle with no fireplace?). He will see the genius some day. ;-)

I like the one right above your white and silver ones---with the slipcovered chairs. I could live there! I also love that one with all the chili peppers...that's way cool! I wish I had a mantel!

I like the blue and white and then the last two.

Ya gotta have at least SOME red, Sandra!

#4 is my favorite. It oozes coziness to me. I'd sit by that fire and never get up!

#7 for me Sandra. It looks somewhat familiar as in the renovation of our 1972 'beauty' we've had to paint the open-face brown brick fire surround the same Antique White as pictured. So I need to decorate the mantle very simply to complement the style. The touch of blue is wonderful. So this post is absolutely perfect timing - thanks a million!

You know, I really like the more simple mantels! The ones with huge garlands are beautiful, but it's the simple ones, like the one with the Amarylis that I'm drawn to.
