Color Me Neutral

I like color. I enjoyed decorating my last house in shades of red, mossy green and gold. Like most of the Austin area houses I post pictures of, however, my own Hill Country home seems to beg for warm neutrals. I found this feature in Traditional Home magazine and love all the neutrals.

As with the Comfort house, this house has wonderful buttery yellow cabinets in its galley kitchen. I'm so ready to paint my kitchen cabinets. I don't think I'll paint them buttery yellow, but they'll definitely be lighter than they are now.

Shhhh. Here it? That's the sound of my kitchen cabinets begging for a fresh coat of paint.

I personally love neutrals and most of my rooms are in tones of white, light beige, soft yellow and pale blue. I find it very soothing and of course "beachy" too.

I like neutrals, but I am just drawn to more deep, darker colors. Sage green and chili pepper red are my two newest favs!

I'm pretty sure you wrote this post just for me. I have a passion for all things neutral (sometimes to a fault), and these pictures were to die for!

I like a neutral background w/ pops of color. Love the buttery cabs in those inspiration photos, but some of the other rooms are too gray for my taste. To me, that LR is screaming for a gorgeous antique rug or piece of art w/ more color. Muted color, but color! At a minimum, I like some contrast w/ dark woods or floors if every other surface is a pale neutral.

Thank you for the kind comment! I always get sick/tired a few weeks before surgery. They are hoping to take the stents out so I don't have to go through this every three months. But, they don't know how my kidney will handle it so we are going to wait until after I take my Bar exam.

Its so nice to know there are so many kind people thinking kind thoughts for me, I definitely need it :)

I try to add some bold color here and there, but am in love with the soft, airy, flowy, romantic look and feel of neutrals. Beautiful pictures!

Oh, that's one lovely place! I actually took a deep breath and sighed while I was looking at the pics. I have to say, though, that I have ALWAYS lived with lots of color--I can't help it! Maybe some day when I have a beach house I'll go all blues and grays and whites. Yeah. Let's all hold our collective breath for my beach house now, ya' hear? ;)

Great colours, I agree. I particularly like the greens in 3 & 4 (& more), and the gilt accent enhances so effectively.
